The Groton Forest Trail Run promises you a rugged, remote, and beautiful run, aimed at bringing you back to the forest and providing you with an unrivaled running experience. All three of the 26.5, the 15.2 mile and the 6.2 mile courses are a mix of technical, single track, multi-use trails and forest/park roads. We have maps and course descriptions and plan on having these maps at the basecamp and each of our four aid-stations.
Both the long and the short course of the Groton Forest Trail Run start and end at Boulder Beach State Park, which is a beautiful lake, with a sandy beach with picnic tables and a pavillion building. Any family and friends who want to join you at the post-race celebration will pay $3 to enter the park.
This is a technical trail run, so expect to take your time and enjoy the magnificent views and work up an appetite. When you are finished running we will host a post-race celebration with a food truck featuring local farm fresh ingredients. Runner’s meals will be included in your registration. Family and friends will be able to purchase food as well.
This is a Zero-Waste event – so everyone will wash their own reusable serving materials. Please help us by bringing your own water bottles and hydration devices. The Kava Express, a 70’s rock cover band will play in the afternoon. Each runner will receive a tech t-shirt.
