Hurricane Crush Run

Welcome to the City of Hurricane Crush Run to benefit the Meeks Mountain Trail Alliance. Join us on Saturday, February 3rd, for the Crush Run Trail 10 miler, 5k run or hike, and Kids Run. All proceeds go to support further development and maintenance of Meeks Mountain Trails Alliance.

Race details

Packet pickup on Friday, February 2nd, from 4-7:00 pm and again on Saturday morning from 8-10:00, at Hurricane City Park’s big red barn. All race participants in the 10 miler, 5k, and kids run can pick up their packets at that time.  After 10:00 on Saturday morning, packets will be available for pickup at the starting line in the back of the bowl. There will be signs directing you to the start line.

Bathrooms are available in the park, and portable restrooms will be available at the Start/Finish. 

All races begin in the bowl. You will cross active train tracks to get to the start/finish, so beware and be careful.

Plan for an extra 15 minutes to walk to the start/finish line.  

The 10 miler has a 3-hour time limit, and the last aid station will close at 11:30.

Water and sports drink are available on the course. The 5k will have one aid station, and the 10 miler will have access to an aid station 3 times.

Swag and Finish Line

Every runner gets the MMTA Crush Run swag, tote, and finisher award.  Expect a finish line bon fire, marshmallows, Orange and Grape Crush, and plenty of hot and ready pizza from our friends at Little Caesars. 

Course

The 10 miler, 5k and Kids Run all begin and end at the new Huntington Federal Shelter at the back of the bowl which is a 15 minute walk from the parking lot at Hurricane City Park.   Each course is on hand built single tract trails. Expect it to have rocks, roots and lots of rolling fun. 

The kids run is approxinately 1 mile and begins at the Huntington Federal Shelter and follows pink flags to Tol Flow and then Art and Lola back the bowl, City Street and follow the gravel road to the finish line.

Awards

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall for both male and female in the 10 miler and 5k.

Awards for the 1st place Crush Two Person Teams in both the half marathon and 5k.  

Age group awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over. 

The Kids Run is a fun run with unique finisher awards.

Safety and EMT will be on call for emergency situations. 

Registration

Registration is limited to 100 runners for the 10 miler and 100 runners for the 5k.  

Thanks to our generous local sponsors the early bird pricing for the kids run is only $10, the 5k is $25 and the 10 miler is $40 up until November 30th. Between December 1st and February 1st registration fees are $10, $35, and $50.  Registrations are final and there are no refunds.

Run with your Crush

Enter as a two-person team and compete for the lowest overall time for the Half Marathon and 5K.  The two finishing times will be added together to determine the team time.  Pricing will remain the same as above.
